In 1971, with only 100,00 dollars in hand and a little of help from above, Mr René Deschamps, originally from Repentigny, sets up “La Carrosserie”. This small business occupied a 900 square feet office and specialized in towing and the straightening of chassis frames.  At the time, the company had two employees and a fleet of eight trucks for towing. As the years went by, the work became more intense and strenuous. Towing more and more damaged vehicles and seeing the demand increasing every day for the repair of such vehicles, the small 900 square feet office rapidly became overloaded and forced the owner, in 1977, to invest in the construction of a new garage with an area of 3600 square feet and an office to greet its clientele. 

In 1979, “La Carrosserie” changed banner to “Remorquages Rive-Nord ltée”. Accustomed to evolve with its clients’ needs, Remorquages Rive-Nord ltée innovated in 1991 by offering the installation and manufacture of towing hitches, the installation, on motorized vehicles, of US Gear supplemental brake systems, tow-bars and Demco deflectors, Husky fifth wheels, the repair of trailers and RV’s as well as the application of Prolab lubricant against rusting. Each year, the company participates at the “Salon des véhicules récréatifs” held at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. This annual event gathers RV owners from all over and enables us to remain at the cutting edge of new trends in the camping industry for the upcoming season. We are also regular participants to different information seminars given during the summer at various RV gatherings.
